Who Are we?
Early Life and Education
Dr. Ioannis Solos, PhD, was born in Western Greece, with ancestral roots in ancient Acarnania, Ithaca from The Odyssey, and Lord Byron’s Missolonghi. During his teenage years, he relocated to London, UK, where his journey into Chinese medicine began in the late 1990s.
He pursued a robust education in acupuncture, herbal medicine, internal martial arts, and Asian bodywork. His academic credentials include:
• Bachelor of Medicine (2003) – Beijing University of Chinese Medicine
• Master of Medicine (2008) – Beijing University of Chinese Medicine
• Doctor of Medicine (PhD, 2016) – Jinan University


Clinical Training in China
Dr. Solos gained extensive clinical experience working in top Chinese hospitals, including:
• People’s Liberation Army General Hospital (301 Hospital)
• Wang Jing Hospital
• Xi Yuan Hospital
• Zhong Xing Sports Trauma Hospital
These experiences spanned nearly two decades in Beijing and Guangzhou, China.
Career in the United States
Dr. Solos moved to Arizona in 2019, establishing a full-time practice in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe areas. He specializes in treating neurological and orthopedic disorders through acupuncture, with a focus on Neuromodulation Acupuncture.

He is the author of the “Gold Mirrors and Tongue Reflections”, and the “Developing Internal Energy for Effective Acupuncture Practice”.
He has also co-authored the “Ao Shi Shang Han Jin Jing Lu –Shi Sheng Du Shu Bi Ji” (in Chinese), and the “Chinese Medicine Diagnostics” for the World Textbook Series for Chinese Medicine Core Curriculum (Chinese and English).

INTERNAL MARTIAL ARTS

Developing Internal Energy for Effective Acupuncture
Dr. Solos has privately studied Yi Quan (Intent Boxing) with renowned Beijing Master Cui Fu-shan (Yao Zong-xun and Bu Enfu’s lineage) from 2002 to 2009.
He has also pursued the study of Xin Yi Liu He Ba Fa (Six Harmonies and Eight Methods) with Master Huang Hao and Zeng Ming-qiang of the Guangzhou Dragon Boxing School (Zeng Gen, Sun Di and Liang Zi-peng’s lineage), from 2013 to 2017.
His martial arts training allowed him the meta-synthesis of classical body mechanics, ancient bone setting and martial philosophy, and the development of new clinical applications, including his own set of Tendon and Fascia Reconditioning Manipulations.
